Greenwich Village

Greenwich Village is a neighborhood located in Manhattan bordering the West Village, the East Village, Union Square, NoHo and SoHo.

Named after Greenwich, England, the neighborhood has been historically considered a center for a vibrant bohemian scene. Today, it is home to many off-Broadway venues, music clubs and comedy clubs, along with Washington Square Park and the NYU and New School campuses. Cooper Union, Astor Place, and St. Mark’s Place are among the destinations and landmarks in this neighborhood. Residential buildings fill this area that many celebrities call home.
